Process for opening new company branch in other states can now be done instantaneously through digital platform

On August 6, 2019, DREI Normative Instruction No. 66 (“IN DREI No. 66”) was published establishing a National Network for the Simplification of Registration and Legalization of Companies and Businesses platform (“Redesim”). This platform integrates all Commercial Registries in the digital environment.

Integration of Commercial Registries through Redesim will enable a company to create multiple branches in different states through an integrated procedure simultaneously at the head office and the location where the branch will be opened.

Thus, registration by the Commercial Registry of the head office will suffice for all other locations where the company wants to open a branch. This procedure will be valid not only for branch registration, but also for any amendments made, registration changes, transference of headquarters, and interstate terminations.

The “Redesim” platform modernizes Commercial Registration and, as with Law No. 13.874/2019 (“Law of Economic Freedom”), is a milestone for the simplification of the bureaucratic procedures and ease of doing business.
